Dear Friends,
As many of you may know, I serve on the Board of Directors of Team Prime Time (TPT), a nonprofit that provides life-changing opportunities for at-risk, low-income middle school youth in our community.
For over 12 years, TPT has been providing free after school academic intervention and enrichment activities to over 1,600 children who live in some of the lowest economic areas in Los Angeles.
The organization’s primary goals are to:
1. give at-risk children a safe and positive place to go after school during the hours of 3 – 6 pm when they are statistically proven to be most likely to be involved in, or victims of, violent crimes, and
2. keep kids in school by helping them overcome learning gaps and experience academic success
Perhaps the most unique aspect of Team Prime Time is that we develop activities that encourage middle school students to become coaches and mentors to children with developmental disabilities.
TPT makes a direct and meaningful difference in the lives of these low-income children and their families. It is in this spirit that I am inviting you to join me this holiday season to give these kids, and the scores of children who are on our wait list, the gift of a brighter future.
